Honda’s 11th-generation Accord debuted for the 2023 model year and is an excellent midsize family sedan. Car and Driver ranked it No. 1 in the segment for the 2024 model year. As you'd expect, it faces several competitors. One of these is the well-known Toyota Camry.

The 2024 Accord and the 2024 Camry are five-seat sedans, but the Accord offers more space. All variants come with nearly 103 cubic feet of space. Also, a one-touch power moonroof is standard on the 2024 Accord range but not on the 2024 Camry range. The 2024 Camry variants offer an optional powered moonroof and have 99.3 cubic feet of cabin space.
The 2024 Accord also leads in cargo space. It has a 16.7-cubic-foot trunk and plenty of storage cubbies and pockets in the cabin. The 2024 Camry doesn't offer as much versatility and only offers 15.1 cubic feet of trunk space. You can also split-fold the rear seats in the 2024 Accord for more cargo capacity.
Next, you’ll appreciate the fresh and clean design of the 2024 Accord’s cabin. Honda’s latest honeycomb-mesh design dashboard has been much lauded for its simplicity. The 2024 Camry's interior looks a bit dated in comparison since it's a 2017 design. Furthermore, the 2024 Accord offers a digital instrument cluster. The 2024 Accord range includes a wireless phone charging pad, Alexa Built-In, ventilated front seats, and heated outboard rear seats on higher trims. Audiophiles will enjoy a 12-speaker Bose premium sound system on the highest trim level.
Honda offers hybrid and non-hybrid powertrains for the 2024 Accord range. Non-hybrid trims form the base two levels of the six-trim range. These include a 1.5-liter 4-cylinder turbocharged engine paired with a CVT gearbox. The engine makes 192 horsepower and 192 pound-feet of torque. It reaches 0-60 at 7.3 seconds.
The remaining four trims of the 2024 Accord range are exclusively offered as hybrids. The system comprises two electric motors and a naturally aspirated 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine. Together, the system makes up to 204 horsepower and 247 pound-feet of torque. Drive goes to the front wheels through an electronic CVT gearbox with deceleration sensors. Testing has revealed the 0-60 time for the 2024 Accord Hybrid to be just 6.6 seconds. Hybrid variants include a drive selector that offers Eco, Normal, Sport, and Individual modes.
Toyota gives buyers of the 2024 Camry three powertrains to choose from. Base trims receive a 2.5-liter naturally aspirated 4-cylinder engine with 202 horsepower. This engine is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. Then, there’s a hybrid powertrain that develops 208 horsepower. The hybrid variant comes with a CVT gearbox and optional all-wheel-drive system. Toyota quotes 0-60 times of approximately 7.5 seconds for either variant.
There’s a more powerful engine available. This is a 3.5-liter V6 with 301 horsepower, driving the front wheels through an 8-speed automatic transmission. Toyota says that the 2024 Camry can achieve 0-60 in under 6 seconds with this engine.
The 2024 Accord comes with Honda's latest Sensing® safety suite on every trim. This active and passive safety technology suite includes autonomous emergency braking and pedestrian detection. It also has lane-departure warning and lane-keeping assist. The 2024 Camry range comes with these features, too.
Both cars also come with adaptive cruise control, airbags, brake assist, daytime running lamps, and child safety locks.
