Ready to snag a bite of Louisiana? Walk-On’s Sports Bistreaux has two locations in Gonzales, and the menu is stacked with Cajun eats, from hand battered alligator to duck and andouille gumbo, your tastebuds won’t be able to get enough.

Where it All Began

The founders of Walk-On’s, Brandon Landry and Jack Warner, became pals as co-walk-on’s for the Louisiana State University basketball team. It wasn’t long before the two developed a strong love for the sports community and Louisiana eats —there’s nothing like it! As they became travel buddies and visited various restaurants and sports gatherings across the country, they saw the great need for the same atmosphere in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

While these men didn’t have much experience when it came to the running a business, they implemented the skills they had learned from being athletes into their work, which are commitment to excellence, hard work, and dedication. Their skills on the court relayed into their business, as the first location opened on September 3rd, 2003, and the rest is history.

The Delicious Menu

Offering the perfect mixture of traditional American foods, as well as spicy Cajun dishes, Walk-On’s has menu items to please the entire family. You will want to start your first course with an order of the fried pickles, cheeseburger sliders, and waffle cheese fries for the table to try. After you lick the plate, venture over to your entrée selections, whether you want a knife and fork kind of dinner, sandwich, or seafood, you will find anything you could possibly think of on the menu.

The burgers are out of this world, with over ten to choose from. If you don’t eat meat, you’ll devour the delectable veggie burger. On the other hand, if you can’t get enough of the beef, treat yourself to the classic burger, which is smothered in American cheese and all of the fixings, or, if you like to get fancy, the hickory burger is covered with Sweet Baby Ray’s BBQ sauce, bacon, onion rings, and more.

Although, as far as other handhelds go, the all-famous Boom Boom Shrimp Poboy has the perfect kick, and the Grown-Up Grilled Cheese is not just any grilled cheese. It has far more than just cheese and bread, as you will also find bacon and marinara stacked between four cheeses.

If you are ready to dig into a large entrée, order a round of the Uncle B’s Chicken Tenders, Pastalaya, or Cajun Ribeye.
